Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.
